You can compare it to washing the print in water, however sandblasting is way more efficient. In practical terms, sandblaster is necessary to get the best results and make the postprocessing run smoothly. Sandblaster is a common tool so if you own one already, you do not need to order it. Abrasive is 0.2 mm glass balls, - nozzle is 4-6 mm diameter, - working pressure is 5-8 bar. Sand blaster comes without an air-compressor (saving on shipping costs for you), so you would need to get equipped with one unit as well (recommended capacity: 290 L/min).
